Description

This emitter cover is the molded housing that shields and positions the infrared emitter for the refrigerator's ice level optics. Replacing a cracked or missing cover helps protect the board and keep the beam path clear for reliable ice making. What it does:

• Shields the emitter board and lens from moisture, frost, and debris
• Aligns the infrared beam path across the ice bin to the receiver
• Helps secure and position the ice level optics assembly
• Common symptoms: broken/missing cover, intermittent or no ice production due to optics misalignment or obstruction

Install notes:

• Disconnect power to the refrigerator before servicing
• Remove the ice bin to access the optics components
• Release the old cover's retaining tabs or fastener and lift it off; avoid touching board components
• Position and secure the new cover, then restore power and test ice maker operation
